  • Year Group Focus—Nursery

    Fri 27 Mar 2026

In Nursery this half term we are learning about animals around the world. For this half term we have our very own Zoo filled with many different animals and the children have been making cages for our zoo.  So far, we have learned about jungle animals, Arctic animals. We have learned lots of interesting facts about all these animals and where they live.

The children have loved playing with the stuffed animal toys as well as the toy puppets which has allowed them to role play as the animal both inside and outside during choosing time. This term we will be learning about minibeasts and will be searching for minibeast in our forest school.

Nursery had a wonderful time celebrating World Book Day!  The children came into school dressed as their favourite characters or in their comfiest clothes.

We explored the story, ‘Going on a Bear Hunt.’ The children joined in with the words and actions while we read the book together.

Their excitement continued the next day when they took part in a series of themed workshops. In one   activity the children created their own paper plate bears, where they stuck on the pieces on by themselves. They also enjoyed a movement workshop where they practiced balancing on a balancing bench and jumped through hoops.
