Following enquiries from parents, we would just like to confirm that next year’s year 6 residential trip to Kingswood in Yorkshire, will be held after their SATS tests, in June.
Our Nursery and Reception children enjoyed days out at the Beach this week. The weather may not have been brilliant, but they all had lots of fun!
We had our French Day on Tuesday and the children enjoyed fun activities with a French theme and tried croissants, baguettes and French cheese! At lunchtime the children had to read from a French Menu in the dinner hall, and practised their French greetings throughout the day. Our children at the beach even got involved, making sandcastles with French flags!
On Wednesday 26th June, our Community Cohesion group presented their ideas for the improvement of Rochdale to the Mayor of Rochdale and other Council dignitaries. We are very proud of all the work they have done this year!
On Friday 21st June, a group of our pupils took part in the IPLCN cycling competition at Spotland Primary School. They did very well and came 3rd overall. Here they are with their certificates. Well done to all of them!
We have a number of staff moving on to new challenges at the end of this year.
Mrs Smith has secured a promotion, and will become a Deputy Headteacher at a school in Lancashire.
Miss Ashraf will be leaving us to relocate to London.
Mrs Rathbone will be moving to one of our local Rochdale schools – Springside Primary School – to begin a new chapter of her teaching career. Finally, Miss Lever will be moving to teach at a school in Bury.
I am sure you will join us in wishing them well for the future. Further information about staffing in September will be sent out at a later date.
Just a reminder that on Tuesday next week, we will be hosting our French Day in school. The school menu has changed for that day (see newsletter) and will be displayed in French in the school dinner hall. We invite children to wear non-uniform that day, ideally wearing the colours of the French flag, red/white/blue. Some of our Nursery and Reception children are going to the beach on Tuesday & Wednesday next week. Parents of children going on Tuesday, will be notified by text beforehand. Please may we remind those parents that their children must wear school uniform to go to the beach. Thank you for your co-operation
This week’s winner is still our un-beaten champion Qasim, with an average time of 0.48 seconds again. Well done Qasim!
