We have been given a grant to develop an eco-garden in school and our school council members have been invited to help with the project. Miss Bly is working with the children on the project, which will involve digging, painting and planting. We are hoping to finish the garden by Christmas or as soon as we can after (depending on the weather!)

All children at Marland Hill now have access to Education City at home. Education City is an educational resource for primary aged children. Children can complete learning activities or may even have homework set on Education City. Children have individual usernames and passwords. If your child has not brought theirs home and you would like access, please ask your child’s teacher.
Year 3 classes will be involved in the Rochdale Linking Network this academic year. This is part of a national Linking Network programme for schools – designed to help children develop their understanding of identity, diversity, uniqueness and belonging. As part of the project, both classes and their ‘link’ class will jointly visit M6 Theatre in Rochdale. Mrs Hall’s class will go on Monday 12th November and Miss Moulton’s class will go on Monday 19th November. Please ensure the reply slip is returned to school as soon as possible.
We have been made aware of an issue in a local school this week with children putting magnetic ball bearings in their mouths to look like they have piercings. Children have accidentally swallowed the ball bearings, which in some cases, can lead to them requiring surgery. Apparently, it’s a problem nationally – for more information please go online and read the link below. Please may we ask all our parents to be very vigilant on this issue.
