• Year 1 History Topic

  For our next history topic - Rochdale now and then, could you send in photos of your child. To help them to understand chronology we will need a baby picture, a picture of them as a toddler and one from when they started school. Do not worry, your child's photo will only appear in their own work and no one else will have access to them.

   

• Year 5 special reading morning

  Year 5 had a special reading morning with Year 2 this week. The Year 5s have been researching Mountains in their Geography topic this term. They have then made an information poster and presented them to Year 2s. There was some super work from the Year 5s and some amazing listening and questioning from the Year 2s. 2's.  Well done year 5!

• Food Bank Donations

  Thank you to parents for your kind donations of food for our local food bank for our non uniform day today. We have received a huge amount of food and this will be gratefully received.

   

  

• Easter Egg Raffle

  Thank you so much to all the children who bought raffle tickets for the Easter Raffle. We raised a total of £223 for the school fund. Abeera won the grand prize and has named her prize ‘Chicky’.

  We had some cracking entries and everyone put in an egg-cellent effort. There were some uneggspected events and everyone had a laugh and a yolk. What a great fry-day!

• Reading Workshops Next Term

  Following the success of this term’s workshops we will be inviting parents in again next term to promote the benefits of positive reading with your child. Parents/carers are invited to attend, tea/coffee will be provided. The dates are as follows:

   

  · Monday 17^th April – Year 5

  · Monday 24^th April – Year 4

  · Monday 15^th May – Year 3

  · Monday 22^nd May – Year 1

  · Monday 12^th June – Year 2

   

  Sessions will run 9.00am-9.30am.

  As a school, we are working on promoting a love of reading and it would be great to have parents as positive reading role models for the children. We hope to see as many parents as possible.

   

• Starbooks Reader– Winners!

• Year 1 Phonics Meeting

  All year 1 parents are invited to attend a phonics meeting on Tuesday 25th April 3.00pm - 3.30pm in the Year 1 classrooms. This meeting will give you all the information that you need about the phonics screening check that will take place in June. We will also give you some ideas and resources that will enable you to further support your child at home. It will also give you the opportunity to ask any questions.  We look forward to seeing as many parents as possible.

   

• Weekly 100% Attendance Awards

  This term, every week we will be looking at children’s attendance and all those children who have 100% attendance for the week will be put in to a draw to win 10 Dojos. There will be one random winner from each class.  To ensure your child is entered into this weekly draw, all you have to do is make sure they are in school on time every day.  Thank you for your continued support.
