.
This week in Year 5 we have been super busy and hard working.
We've had our new school councillors take a trip to Ashworth Valley where they met other school councillors. They cooked bread on an open fire, grass sledging, archery and go karting.
Eight children were chosen to visit Ashworth Valley for a second day to take part in the Aspire Project. Here the children took part in team-building activities from other schools in the hope to learn more about what Rochdale has to offer our community. The children completed several activities including: treasure trial, arts and crafts, nature walk and a scavenger hunt.
In Design and Technology, the children have begun making their Moving Toys. We're looking forward to seeing our final products when completed!
Finally, a big well done to the children that have brought in History homework for this term so far. Our working walls are looking fantastic!
We still have some after school clubs places available. They are as follows:
Monday: Year 3 and Year 4
Tuesday KS2
Thursday: Year 1 and Year 2
Friday: Year 5 and Year 6
Sessions run 3.15pm-4.15pm. The cost is £13.
If you would like to book, then please contact the school office.
Payment is required to book and places are on a first come, first served basis.
Thank you.
Thank you to all parents/carers for attending the reading morning, it was lovely to see you all.
Parents/carers are invited to attend, tea/coffee will be provided. The dates are as follows:
Tuesday 3rd October – Year 5
Tuesday 10th October – Year 4
Tuesday 17th October – Year 3
Sessions will run 9.00am-9.30am.
As a school, we are working on promoting a love of reading and it would be great to have parents as positive reading role models for the children. We hope to see as many parents as possible.
The following children have been awarded ‘Star Reader’ and enjoyed going to the ‘Starbooks’ cafe in the library to enjoy a drink and a treat as their reward. Fantastic!

Thank you to everyone who attended the McMillian coffee morning today.
We would like to say a huge THANK YOU for all of your fantastic donations of cakes and bakes, they looked delicious. We have managed to raise lots of money and every penny will be going towards helping to support people living with cancer.
