· Download the GM Family Hub app for your Android device
Once downloaded, choose Rochdale to get started.
The Rochdale Family Hub app will:
· bring trusted local and national information straight to your phone
· give clear guidance for every stage of being a parent
· connect you to local health, education and community services
Whether you are getting ready for a new baby, looking after a toddler, or supporting an older child, the app has helpful advice all in one place.
The Family Hub app is here to help you feel supported and confident every step of the way.
How the app works
You can personalise the app by adding your due date or your child’s date of birth. This helps you receive tailored information for your stage of pregnancy or your child’s age. You’ll also get updates from your local Family Hub team.
The app includes details of local groups and services in Rochdale, and the content is available in 75 languages.
Year 2 have continued the impress us all year and have been working very hard.
In the Spring term we had a Geography focus, learning all about Amazing Africa! We compared Nairobi and Kenya and learnt about the Masai Tribe and how they live. The children really enjoyed crafting their own Masai beaded necklaces and naming the continents with the continents song.
This half term in History we will be learning about how significant women changed history, focusing on Rosa Parks and Malala Yousafzai. The children brought in some amazing homework that staff were very impressed with.
We have stared our Science theme of Animals, living things and their habitats this summer term. We will be spending more time outside to look at the environment and wildlife around us in school. We will been identifying and classifying mini beasts and insects, as well as designing a perfect habitat for them.
Year 6 SATS will be taking place the week commencing Monday 11th May.
At Marland Hill, we are learning a new sign every week. Why not learn with us at home too!
Every week children that display good manners are chosen to sit at the Captain’s Table for dinner. Well done to the following children that have been selected to sit at the Captain’s Table.

On Thursday, children from Years 5 and 6, alongside children from Brimrod Primary, took part in a special lacrosse lesson organised and run by Rochdale Borough Sports Games Partnership. During the lesson the children were taught the key skills involved in the game of lacrosse and got the chance to perfect these against each other in a small sided game. All children involved thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity and represented the school admirably.
Year 4 had a visit from the dental nurse which links with their current science topic of teeth and the digestive system. They learnt how to look after their teeth and were even given a toothbrush to take home!
