In year 5 this week, both classes visited Ordsall Hall and were Tudors for the day! They learnt all about the different lives of the rich and poor people and were able to experiment with different herbs and spices, making their own posies! The children enjoyed a Tudor banquet and even took part in some traditional dances! They had such a wonderful time and learnt so much!
We have also been looking at the work of Julien Opie and have created portraits in the style of his work! The children have used acetate sheets and chosen contrasting paint colours to create this effective piece of art. Can you guess who the portraits are?
In science, we are looking at how plants reproduce and the children have been able to dissect actual flowers and look at the different parts. The children loved pulling the flowers apart and were able to identify the importance of each element!
We hope you all have a lovely half term break! Stay safe year 5!!
