Pupils in Year 4 have been enthusiastically rehearsing this week for the 'Royal Opera House' project they are involved in during the summer term. 'The Magic Flute' by composer Mozart is the focus of the project and pupils have this week been learning and preparing performances of the songs. When they return in the Summer pupils will be rehearsing some drama and movement to accompany the singing. The final performance will take place at 'The Curtain Theatre' where both Y4 classes will perform alongside classes from two other schools.
In DT this week pupils have planning and making seasonal salads. This has involved food tasting, and making decisions about which ingredients to include to make a tasty salad!
Every week during PE, Coaches will be choosing pupils to be their PE superstars of the week. Well done to the following children who were fantastic in PE last week:

Congratulations to these Year 6 children who have been successful in achieving their Arts Award Explore Award which is run by Trinity College London in association with Arts Council England. They have worked incredibly hard throughout the school year, exploring different art forms and media, before going on to create amazing art pieces using their newly acquired skills.

We will be holding an Eid and Summer fair on Thursday 20th June. This will take place straight after school in the school hall.
We will be holding lots of different stalls, including raffles and mendhi.
There will also be 2 non-uniform days:
· Friday 7th June - we will be collecting Bottles.
· Friday 14th June - we will be collecting Chocolates.

Jayden won Gold in his pairs Kata and Silver in fighting and has now qualified for the world championships in Dubai in 2024. We are very proud of him and wish him good luck!
A reminder that we are having our first Marland Hill Family Quiz Night on Thursday 6th June from 4.30pm to 6.00pm.
Tickets are still available and can be purchased on parent mail (payments and then shop) for £5 per family (recommended teams of around 6 players). Great prizes to be won plus you can play your cards right for £1 a ticket to win a cash prize. Drinks and snacks will also be on. sale.
We are asking for donations for games that can be used for when children have wet play. Any games such as board games are welcome. If you wish to donate please bring them to the school office. Thank you.
Our morning nursery is now full but we do have some afternoon nursery places in September 2024. If you are interested then please come and pick an application form up from the school office.
