  • Starbooks Reader– Winners!

    The following children have been awarded ‘Star Reader’ and enjoyed going to the ‘Starbooks’ cafe in the library to enjoy a drink and a treat as their reward. Fantastic!

     

  • Weekly 100% Attendance

    This term, every week we will be looking at children’s attendance and all those children who have 100% attendance for the week will be put in to a draw to win 10 Dojos. There will be one random winner from each class.  To ensure your child is entered into this weekly draw, all you have to do is make sure they are in school on time every day.  Thank you for your continued support.

     

  • Young Voices 2023

    Young Voices is open to Year 4, 5 and 6 children who are invited to participate at Manchester Arena on Wednesday 1st February 2023.

    In advance of the Young Voices event, all children taking part are invited to attend an after school club to practise the songs. The after school club will be on a Thursday and will run on the following dates:

    Thursday 6th October to Thursday 8th December (inclusive)

    Thursday 12th January to Thursday 26th January (inclusive)

    The club will run after school until 3.50pm. Children should be collected from the school office by an adult at 3.50pm prompt.

     

    There are 5 spaces left and are on a first come first served basis.

     

  • Fundraiser for Saqib

    Fauzia and her family completed the Walk of Hope to raise money for Brain Tumour Research in memory of her son and our Reception pupil from last year, Saqib Raza Ahmed who sadly passed away from a rare brain tumour. If you would like to donate the JustGiving link is

  • Year 6 Residential 2023

    The Year 6 residential visit will be to the High Adventure Outdoor Education Centre in Keighley, West Yorkshire. This will take place from Wednesday 15th February 2023 until Friday 17th February 2023. The cost of the residential is £60 and we require a deposit of £10 to reserve your child’s place. The deposit must be received no later than Monday 17th October.

    Please go to parent mail in the payment section, then shop to book your child’s place and you will also need to complete the consent form, found in the forms section. Please see page 4 for more information. Thank you.

     

  • Spare Clothes From School

    If your child has needed a change of clothes from school please could parents wash them and return them to school as soon as possible.

  • European Day of Languages

    European Day of Languages on Monday went really well. Year 6 enjoyed researching other European languages. Year 3 learned a song in Spanish, which they performed in class and Key Stage 2 children recorded themselves performing French nursery rhymes to share with younger pupils. Pupils who speak languages other than English at home shared these with their friends in class.


    Adam Y5 and Rumaysa Y6 were the winners of the Languages homework challenge and won a French book as well as dojos as their prize. Well Done!

     

     

     

  • Football Tournament

    A reminder that those Year 4 pupils who have been selected to attend the Football Tournament, will be going on Wednesday 5th October., within the school day. Please ensure your child brings in their full football kit in with them on this day. Thank you.

     

  • Healthy packed lunches

    Wed 28 Sep 2022

    A polite reminder that Marland Hill has a healthy eating approach, which promotes food such as fruit and vegetables and discourages the consumption of foods such as crisps and sweets. Children are encouraged to drink water throughout the day and we ask that children please continue to bring in their own water bottles (filled with water only) from home, clearly labelled with their name on.

    If your child brings in a packed lunch to school, please can you ensure that the healthy eating approach is followed.

     

  • Data Collection Reminder Letter

    A polite reminder to please ensure that you have sent in your child’s data collection sheet completed and signed back to school with your child. School cannot release children to adults who are not on your child’s pick up list. Thank you for your continued support.
