We are now holding our annual elections for Head Boy and Head Girl. The three year 6 classes have each selected a boy and a girl to put forward. The classes have made posters and written speeches and the six candidates will be visiting all the classes to make their speeches, then all the children will get the opportunity to vote for their favourite candidate. The boys will be voted for on Friday and the girls will voted for the following week. Results will be announced when we have them!
On the 1st December 2021 the children in the Hearing Impaired Resource Base will have some visitors from the National Deaf Children’s Society (NDCS). The National Deaf Children's Society is the leading charity for deaf children and young people. The NDCS will be visiting our school for the day with their own Roadshow Bus. The Roadshow Bus is also available after school (located on the school car park) and we invite the children’s parents to attend. This is an excellent chance for parents to see the latest technology, meet members of the NDCS, ask questions and gain valuable support.
If you would like to know more about what the Roadshow Bus offers, then feel free to follow the link:
On Wednesday 1st December the school photographer (Tempest) will be in school to take photographs of the children. Please ensure children come in their school uniform. Year 1 and Year 4 will also need to come in their school uniform and will be doing PE in their uniform on that day. Thank you.
Christmas dinner will be served to the children on Wednesday 15th December.
They can come into school in their Christmas jumper but must still wear their school trousers or skirt.
If your child normally has a packed lunch they can order a Christmas dinner by emailing the school office before the 6th of December. office@marlandhill.rochdale.sch.uk

Year 6 have been looking at artwork from artist Frida Kahlo who was considered one of Mexico's greatest artists. She was famous for her sugar skull paintings and the children have been using clay to make their own skulls based on her work.
Here are some pictures of the children working on their sculptures.
