In Science, year 6 have been learning about electricity. They have been working on an investigation task and they had to use a range of components to build a circuit. Predictions were made as to whether a light source would become brighter if the voltage was increased.
In Art, children have been using wet and dry techniques to create a large image of a shell. Art materials such as guta, cling film, salt and brush were used. The effects were eye-catching and the children were very proud of them!
Year 6 have been playing volleyball in their PE lessons and have enjoyed some of their lessons outside when the weather has been dry.
This week the children will once again be bringing home the knowledge organisers and homework tasks for over half term.
We would appreciate your support in ensuring homework tasks are completed, and returned to school. It would also be beneficial to your child if you looked at and discussed the content of the knowledge organiser at intervals across the half term, enabling your child to share with you what they are learning in class.
Miss Wright would like to thank parents for sending in recycled materials for our linking project, this has now taken place.
We wish to say goodbye and good luck to Miss Hignett (Teaching Assistant).
Thank you for all of your hard work, we wish you all the best in your future.
Due to popular demand, and the hard work of our Head Boy, Head Girl, Deputy Head Boy, Deputy Head Girl and Prefects, Captain’s Table will be back after half term. This was shared with the children in assembly this morning, and they are all very excited.
In order for the children to be selected to be on Captain’s Table, they will need to use their manners in the hall at lunchtime, eat all their food [or do their best to], try new foods [for example the vegetables they always try and leave!], and make sure they leave their space tidy.
One child from each class will be selected, and be able to choose a friend and sit in a specially set place. Children who are on packed lunches are also eligible to be chosen to be on Captain’s Table.
We will announce the winners each week in assembly, and share their names on the newsletter.
The following children have been awarded ‘Star Reader’ and enjoyed going to the ‘Starbooks’ cafe in the library to enjoy a drink and a treat as their reward. Fantastic!
