• Year 5B Miss Rainbow's Class: Visit to Castleton Library

  Year 5B Miss Rainbow’s class will be going to Castleton library on Monday 29^th September. They will be taking part in a creative workshop. Children will be walking to and from the library. Children will be back to have their lunch in school.

   

  Please can you ensure children bring with them their water bottle and wear appropriate footwear and a jacket prepared for all weather.

   

  The site will also be taking photos for advertisement around the community.

   

  Please go to parent mail and complete the consent form for your child to attend and also for their photo to be taken, which can be found in the forms section.

   

• Fundraising

  Due to the fundraising efforts of the whole school community we have been able to purchase First Aid bags for all our classes. Thank you everybody

  

• Year 6 Pioneers Museum

  Fri 12 Sep 2025

  Year 6 will be going to Rochdale Pioneers Museum on Friday 10th October. Children will be walking to the museum and back with members of school staff, so please ensure your child wears their school uniform and a suitable coat, hat, shoes etc. according to the weather.

   

  The children will take part in a workshop as part of the visit so we are asking parents for a  voluntary contribution of £2 towards the cost of this. This can be made with the shop section of parent mail.

   

  You will need to complete the consent form on parent mail, which can be found in the forms  section. Please complete this as soon as possible.

   

• Reading Afternoons

  The next reading workshop will be as follows:

   

  · Friday 19^th September  - Year 6

  · Friday 26th September - Year 5

  · Friday 3rd October - Year 4

  · Friday 10th October - Year 3

  · Friday 17th October - Year 2

  · Friday 24th October - Year 1

   

  They will be taking place in the school hall  2.30pm-3pm.

   

  Tea/Coffee will be provided.

• Year 1 Tommy Tumble Visit

  Fri 12 Sep 2025

  Year 1 will be going to Tommy Tumble Town Role Play Centre this will now be on Monday 20^th October. This is a fantastic opportunity for the children to explore around their topic of toys. Children will be travelling to and from the venue via coach with members of staff from school. Children will have grab bags on the day.

   

  School is heavily subsiding the cost of this visit, we are asking for a voluntary contribution of £10. If we do not receive sufficient funds the visit will be cancelled.

   

  Please complete the consent form on parent mail, by going to parent mail/forms. Please go to parent mail/payments/shop to pay the voluntary contribution.

• Meal Patterns

  A reminder that meal patterns are set per half term and cannot be swapped or changed in between. School dinners are £3.10 per day.

   

• Music After School Clubs

  Music Clubs will commence the week beginning  Monday 15^th September. They will be as follows:

   

  Monday KS1 (Year 1-Year 2) 3:20pm - 4:00pm 

   

  Tuesday KS2 (Year 3- Year 6) 3:10pm - 3:50pm 

   

  If you wish for your child to participate you will need to book a place on Parent Mail by going to shop/payments to book and reserve a place.

   

  There is no cost. Places are on a first come, first served basis. We do encourage the children to ensure they attend each week to be able to learn and perform.

   

• After School Clubs
