This term, every week we will be looking at children’s attendance and all those children who have 100% attendance for the week will be put in to a draw to win 10 Dojos. There will be one random winner from each class. To ensure your child is entered into this weekly draw, all you have to do is make sure they are in school on time every day. Thank you for your continued support.

Parent meetings will be taking place week commencing Monday 11th November.
More information to follow next week.
As part of the project, both classes and their ‘link’ class will visit M6 Theatre in Rochdale. Miss Shabir’s Class will be going on Wednesday 6th November and Miss Ashraf’s class will be going on Wednesday 27th November. We will watch a performance and take part in a number of workshops led by the actors.
There is a possibility that photographs will be taken at the theatre, and these photographs may be used by the Local Authority, and shared with other schools, including our link school. If you do not wish for your child to have their photograph taken you must inform the school in writing by emailing the school:
office@marlandhill.rochdale.sch.uk.
Please complete the consent form on parent mail, which can be found in the forms section.
Thank you.
You can still enter our pumpkin competition. You can bring 50p to your class teacher or come to the school office to enter. Entry must be given by 24th October.
In Year 5 we have been making CAM toys. We have researched what a CAM toy is and designed them with our unique ideas, considering who we were making it for. This week we have been painting the outside and creating the inside of the toy. This required us to use saws safely! We got to choose the shape of our CAM and this will change how it moves. We have had fun and look forward to seeing the end design!
Our history topic this half term has been the vicious Vikings and we were fortunate to receive an exciting delivery from archeologists! We were able to explore and uncover different Viking artefacts and discuss what they might have been used for such a clay wine glass and drinking cups make from ivory. Some lucky children also had the opportunity to try on some Viking clothes and we were able to discuss the different roles of Viking men and women.
A polite reminder to ensure your child brings their water bottle into school with their name clearly labelled. No juice or flavoured water is allowed, just water.
Thank you for your continued support.
