There are roadworks due to start in January near the cemetery on Bury Road in Rochdale. These are expected to last for 12 weeks and to cause delays.
Thanks to everybody who attended our Christmas assemblies this morning, it was lovely to see so many of our families.
A reminder that meal patterns are set per half term. You cannot swap or change in between. If you wish for your child’s meal pattern to change after Christmas then you must email the school office: office@marlandhill.rochdale.sch.uk no later than Thursday 21st December. Thank you for your continued support.
This half term has been exciting in the Hearing Impaired Resource Base [HIRB]. Our older pupils have been reading ‘The Great Kapok Tree’ and discussing the impact of deforestation on animals in the rainforest. In order to raise money for the WWF charity, the children are holding a biscuit sale for staff. We are hoping to raise enough money to adopt a jaguar.
Our younger children have enjoyed reading ‘The Tiger Who Came to Tea’. As part of this, we have planned our own tea party and took a trip to our supermarket to buy the ingredients we needed. The children were each given a shopping list and some money. They had to work together to find the ingredients that they needed.
The Deaf elf IS BACK! He has been causing trouble in the base and enjoyed our trip to Tesco!

A polite reminder to please ensure children come in with their own water bottle, clearly labelled with their name on. Let’s all support our environment!
