• Forest School

  The Nursery children had a fantastic time at forest school. We saw lots of signs of spring. We saw new leaves growing on the trees, pink and white blossom, daffodils, buzzy bees and some nests in the trees. We also heard lots of birds singing and even smelt some wild garlic. We loved our time at forest school and can’t wait to go back.

   

   

  

• Starbooks Reader - Winners!

• Year 4 Local Area Walk

  As part of their Geography fieldwork studies, Year 4 will be going on a walk to Rochdale on the following dates:

  · 4B will be going on Thursday 24^th April. 

  · 4A will be going on the Friday 25^th April.

• Year 6 SATS

• Eco Shop Thursday 24th April

  Do you want to play your part in looking after our environment?  Then make sure you visit our next eco shop, Marland ecoMart,  Thursday 24^th April 3-3.30pm outside MUGA 1. This is the first Thursday back after the Easter break! Bring along your 500ml plastic container(s) ready to refill on the day. Don't worry, if you forget, we will have some plastic containers to purchase on the day (only 10p)! Please remember it is CASH ONLY!  We have had such amazing reviews on our products, you will NOT be     disappointed!

   

   

• Conduct on School Grounds

  Following a recent incident at the end of the school day, please may I remind you to be mindful of your conduct on and around school premises, and in particular in the presence of children.

   

  It is not acceptable for parents to be shouting at each other on school grounds. If you do have a concern with another parent, please raise it with them appropriately away from the school and our pupils.

   

  If a parent behaves in a way that is not acceptable on school grounds, the appropriate action will be  taken, which may involve the police being contacted, and/ or a ban from the premises.

• After School Clubs: Summer Term

  The after school clubs for Summer term are available to book on Parentmail. They will start the week commencing 22^nd April 2025 and will be up until the Summer holidays but there will be no clubs taking place the last week of the term. Sessions will run after school until 4.15pm each week. The cost will be £8- £10 for the half term.

  Payment must be made in full (£8-£10) for the term when booking a place. We are unable to reserve places without payment. Places are limited and will be on a first come first served basis. Please note that payments for after school clubs are non-refundable.

• Parents’ Meetings

  Parents’ Meeting for Nursery, Reception, Year 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 will take place the week commencing  Monday 28th April. You will need to go to Parentmail to book a parents’ meeting appointment.

   

  The parents’ meetings will be on the following dates:

   

  Nursery: Monday 28^th April, Tuesday 29^th April and Wednesday 30^th April.

   

  Reception, Year 1 and Year 2: Monday 28^th April and Wednesday 30^th April.

   

  Years 3, 4 and 5: Tuesday 29^th April and Thursday 1^st May.

   

  Appointments will be available to book on parent mail/parent’s

   

   

• Weekly Attendance Winners

  This term, every week we will be looking at children’s attendance and all those children who have 100% attendance for the week will be put in to a draw to win 10 Dojos. There will be one random winner from each class.  To ensure your child is entered into this weekly draw, all you have to do is make sure they are in school on time every day.  Thank you for your continued support.

• School Dinners

  After the Easter holidays we will be commencing with our Summer menu. (Please see page 7)

   

  A reminder that meal patterns are set per half term and cannot be swapped or changed in between.

   

  If you wish for your child’s meal pattern to change after Easter you must email the school office: office@marlandhill.rochdale.sch.uk no later than Friday 18th April.
