A polite reminder to ensure your child brings their water bottle into school with their name clearly labelled. No juice is allowed, just water. Thank you for your continued support.
We have today be notified that there is a safeguarding issue linked to books in the children’s book series ‘Spy Dogs / Pups’ and ‘Spy Cat’ books written by Andrew Cope. These books contain a link to a website, which has been compromised and now takes users to highly pornographic contact with no age verification.
The website is identified on the back of the book or on the inside page as – www.spydog451.co.uk
Following advice from LADO / Education Safeguarding colleagues / EDIT Team, could we ask that you remove these books from school libraries and classrooms, public libraries and Nurseries as a precaution.
We are also advising that schools / Nurseries asks parents to check at home for copies of this book and remove them from being accessed by children, until we are sure that this issue has been resolved.
Welcome to Year 1! Year 1 have had a great start to the year and have made massive progress in the huge transition from Reception. We have been busy writing a bedtime routine making sure we have used capital letters, finger spaces and full stops. Our phonics lessons have continued from reception and the children are now used to the routine and their phonics teacher.
Both Year 1 classes are practising their books 3 or more times which is wonderful to see. Keep it up! In maths, we are working on cementing our understanding of numbers to 10, finding different parts and whole numbers, comparing numbers and using the symbols <,> and =. As part of our Toys topic, the children on Friday had a wonderful time learning about Punch and Judy and other puppets and then created their own!
We are running a Halloween competition starting next week. The children must enter using the purchased pumpkin template. NO REAL PUMPKINS TO BE USED OR BROUGHT INTO SCHOOL. We will come round to classes with the templates from Monday.
Please see page 10 for more information.
KS2 School Choir will be restarting as an after school club on Thursday 6th November. This will be as follows:
