Abdul competed in a spelling bee competition. He’s done absolutely fantastic and made it through to the finals! Out of 34 Rochdale schools, he’s made the final 5 schools. We wish him good luck for the finals next week.
Friday 17th March is Red Nose day. Children will be able to donate £1 in return for wearing red and non uniform, however please ensure your child wears sensible footwear and brings a coat.
Thank you to all parents/carers who attended parents meetings this week, it was really lovely to see you all. Thank you to all the school staff for their help and support.
It has been brought to our attention that on more than one occasion, a small number of children have been allowed by their parents to urinate in the school playground at the end of the day. Please note that this is not acceptable for both hygiene and safeguarding reasons and we would kindly ask that you use the facilities in reception if any of your children should need the toilet. Thank you for your understanding.
If your child is going to be absent or is ill then please contact the school office on 01706 647147 before 9am, if possible, so we can mark your child absent. If you wish to email us you can send an email to the school office at:
office@marlandhill.rochdale.sch.uk
Or alternatively you can send an email via Parentmail.
Please note that daily contact is required for safeguarding reasons and we may call you for an update if your child has a prolonged absence. If you can provide medical evidence regarding your child’s absence this will ensure the absence is authorised.
School Council are hosting an Egg-Mobile Competition.
Your challenge is to create a 'vehicle' that can transport an egg down a ramp and travel as far as possible.

Bring in your egg-mobiles ready to race by Thursday 30th March.
Year 1 have been learning about keeping their teeth clean. Here they are practising how to remove plaque and bacteria and to keep their smiles bright!
The following children have been awarded ‘Star Reader’ and enjoyed going to the ‘Starbooks’ cafe in the library to enjoy a drink and a treat as their reward. Fantastic!
Thank you to all parents who attended the reading workshop this week.
