Well done to all those that participated in Sports day this week. More information to follow next week.
In light of the wet weather overnight and forecast for this to continue, EYFS Sports Day was cancelled today. A new date will follow.
Thank You.
This half term we have started a new topic called ‘Big Wide World’. We have been learning all about different countries around the world, where different animals live, different foods and what children from different countries enjoy doing .
Fantastic Journeys
The children had the chance to practice their large motor skills, they all completed an obstacle course were they had to run, jump, climb, balance and ride a bike. They all had lots of fun and did a fantastic job.
Holidays
The children really enjoyed sharing their Tapestry posts about holidays and days out that they have been on. We also read about the penguin who went on holiday. We spent time packing his suitcase for a hot holiday and then a cold holiday.
Animals around the World
We have spent lots of time looking at maps and talking about different countries. The children spent time creating different habitats for different animals. They had to think carefully where the different animals might live, if it would be hot or cold and what the habitat might look like.
Children around the World
The children have been looking at different children around the world. We have been talking about the similarities and differences of these children. We know that children in different countries go to school, like to play games and have friends just the same as us.
Well Done to Amelia for winning the Teddy called Fluffy!
We would like to thank all our parents/carers and families for attending the Eid/Summer Fair on Thursday 20th June. The event was very well attended and a huge success. Everyone enjoyed taking part in games such as Splat the Rat, Ball Throw, Toss the Coin, Play Your Cards Right, Name the Teddy, Lucky Dip and Spin to Win a Bottle.
Our Chocolate and Variety Tombolas were as popular as ever. Coach Liam from EdStart provided a fun game of Jag Tag for free and the ice cream van attended and was very busy! Lots of families enjoyed the face painting, glitter tattoos, nail painting, mehndi and henna tattoos. Some families were lucky enough to win a prize on our fantastic raffle. We look forward to our next fundraising event in the autumn term. More information to follow next week.
This term the reading workshops will be as follows:
· 9th July - Reception
· 16th July - Nursery
Sessions will run 9am-9.30am. Tea/coffee will be provided. As a school, we are working on promoting a love of reading and it would be great to have parents as positive reading role models for the children. We hope to see as many parents as possible.
Please see page 6 of the newsletter for the design a library card competition. We do have some paper copies in the school office if you wish to pick one up. Thank you and good luck!
