With this money we are going to get wet play games for the pupils. The people from Altus Multi Academy Trust have also donated some games for us. So far we have given games to year:
· Year 5
· Year 4
· Year 2
· Year 1
Thank you so much.
We are thrilled to be back in school after the half term and we are working harder than ever. Its amazing to see how grown up the children look at this time of the year and how ready some of them are for moving on to their next year group.
In Spring 2 we had a history focus, looking at Rochdale and how it has changed over the years. We enjoyed looking at how Marland Hill has changed over the years and comparing it to Brimrod school which is a relatively old building. The children enjoyed looking at how uniforms, classrooms resources and rules in schools have changed over time and discussing how schools these days seem a much nicer place to be.
In art we have been looking at comparing Lowry and Paul Klee. We looked at exploring shapes, patterns and features within buildings. The children experimented with different printing techniques, they used painted blocks to print with and then drew their own picture of Rochdale Town Hall, which they then drew onto a Styrofoam tile and printed. Look at our amazing work!
Our topic for this half term is a geography focus, answering the question ‘Where would I visit on a trip to London?’. We will be looking at the United Kingdom and famous landmarks in each of the 4 countries, the capital cities and then focusing more in depth on London.
On Thursday we held our first family quiz event in the school hall. It was lovely to see so many of our families taking part in the quiz. Prizes were awarded for each round won and the overall winners will be enjoying an afternoon tea at the Norton Grange Hotel. Well done quiz team ‘The Aguilera’s!’ Thank you to everyone who attended and we hope to see you all again at our next after school event.
Well done to the following children that have been selected to sit at the Captain’s Table.
