Year Group Page – Year 4
Fri 07 Nov 2025In Year 4, the children have recently completed their History topic on the ancient Greeks. As part of their learning, the children created Ancient Greek pots and took part in a workshop held by Touchstones. The children also created artwork inspired by Ancient Greek temples.
Currently, the children have started a new Geography topic and will be exploring why Italy is such a popular tourist destination. The children have also started a new science topic all about sound. The children will be exploring how all sounds come from vibrations and how the importance of soundproofing items in a range of contexts.

Reading Afternoons
Fri 07 Nov 2025The next reading workshop will be as follows:
· Friday 14th November—Reception
· Friday 21st November—Nursery (More information to follow regarding morning and afternoon timings).
They will be taking place in the school hall 2.30pm-3pm.
Tea/Coffee will be provided.

Manchester City Football Match
Fri 07 Nov 2025Well Done to Ayan who got a chance to be a mascot at the Manchester City vs Borussia Dortmund Match on Wednesday and well done to Manchester City who won 4-1.

Gifted and Talented Writers
Fri 07 Nov 2025On Thursday, three Year 6 children visited Broadfield Primary School to take part in the first day of a workshop for gifted and talented writers. They had a wonderful time solving mysteries and creating their very own podcast, Cold Cases! The children were exceptionally well-behaved and we are looking forward to our next workshop in January.

Christmas Fair
Fri 07 Nov 2025On Wednesday 3rd December we are holding a Christmas Fair in school. This will take place in the school hall straight after school at 3.30pm. We are asking for raffle prize donations such as food/takeaway prizes and donations of health/beauty vouchers, we would welcome and appreciate any donations you can make.
We will also be holding two non uniform days to collect prizes for our popular chocolate tombola and bottle stall. These will be held on the following dates:
· Chocolate Donations—21st November
· Bottle donations—28th November
