The following children have been awarded ‘Star Reader’ and enjoyed going to the ‘Starbooks’ cafe in the library to enjoy a drink and a treat as their reward. Fantastic!

As part of Year 1’s RE curriculum and the work we have completed on special places, the children will be visiting The Neeli Mosque and St Aidan’s Church. The opportunity to visit both the mosque and the church is an important part of the work that the children have already completed in class and will provide them with a deeper understanding of both special places as they complete supporting units throughout school.
Neeli Mosque
The Mosque trip will take place on Monday 26th June. Children will be travelling to the Mosque by coach within the school day and will have lunch as usual. Normal drop off and pick up times will remain the same.
St Aidan’s Church
The Church trip will take place on Monday 3rd July. Children will be walking to the Church within the school day and will have lunch as usual. Normal drop off and pick up times will remain the same.
For both trips, please ensure that your child is wearing school uniform, suitable footwear and a coat depending on the weather.
Please go to Parent Mail to complete the consent form as soon as possible, this can be found in the forms section.
Some of our children visited the English Institute of Sport in Sheffield yesterday. They were joined by other pupils from our local schools to celebrate some of the gifted and talented children.
In PSHE this week, Year 2 have been looking at how we change as we grow up and what they would like to be in the future. Here they are trying to order the photos of people from youngest to oldest. Everyone did a great job at working together and at organising the images.
On Tuesday 20th June we will be holding an information workshop for parents where we will be discussing in more detail the work we cover in PSHE. Timings will be confirmed next week.
This term, every week we will be looking at children’s attendance and all those children who have 100% attendance for the week will be put in to a draw to win 10 Dojos. There will be one random winner from each class. To ensure your child is entered into this weekly draw, all you have to do is make sure they are in school on time every day. Thank you for your continued support.
