Good sleeping habits are very important for your child’s development. Children need to learn good sleeping habits they do not come naturally. A good bedtime routine is essential for establishing good sleep patterns. Establish a sleep plan which all adults in the house agree to.
Tips to consider include:
· Children over 6 months old do not require food or drink during the night so stop night feeds after 6 months before they become a habit which will be hard to break.
· Re establish routines as soon as possible after a break due to illness, holidays etc.
· Give children calm down time preferably without electronics for an hour before bed.
· Try not to allow your child to fall asleep on the sofa as they need to learn to self soothe – fall asleep by themselves.
· Try to include a story or reading as part of a bedtime routine.
· Choose a time that is convenient to start to establish a new bedtime routine.
· Be firm, consistent and confident.
You can do this!
The children have made a great start to the new year, we have started with our mini topic ‘Wonderful Winter’ where the children have been learning all about Percy the Park Keeper and how he helps the animals in the snowy weather. The children have been completing lots of different activities that are linked to Winter. We have also been looking at other places in the world that have cold weather, the children have really enjoyed exploring our North Pole role play area.
In maths the children continue to work on their mastering number, they have been learning how to match numerals to quantities, ordering numbers and understanding the composition of a number. The children enjoy using the Numberblocks characters to help them to understand these
At Marland Hill, we are learning a new sign every week. Why not learn with us at home too!
Every week children that display good manners are chosen to sit at the Captain’s Table for dinner. Well done to the following children that have been selected to sit at the Captain’s Table
