In Reception this week we have been learning all about New Year and how this symbolises the start of a new calendar year. We discussed how the children will experience another birthday and school year. We have spent a lot of time learning about and reflecting on New Years Resolutions and the children have thought about something they'd like to be better at this year and came up with some fantastic ideas such as, riding a bike, phonics, handwriting, swimming and football. We've also looked at ways in which New Year is celebrated and the children were very excited to take part in a New Year countdown.
In Year 3’s Ancient Egypt Topic the children have been learning all about the pyramids and tombs that were used for the Pharaohs.
