• Reading Afternoons

  After half term we will be having our reading afternoon workshops taking place: 2.30-3pm. They will be as follows:

   

  · Friday 6th November– Year 6

  · Friday 13th November– Year 5

  · Friday 20th November– Year 4

  · Friday 4th December– Year 3

  · Friday 11th December– Year 2

   

  This is a great opportunity for parents/carers to sit and read with their child. Tea and Coffee will be   provided. We look forward to seeing you there!

   

• Parents Meetings

  Parent Meetings will be taking place week commencing Monday 9th November. In order to book an appointment you will need to go to parent mail/parent’s evening to book an appointment. Each appointment will last 10 minutes.

   

  The parents’ meetings will be on the following dates:

   

  · Nursery, Reception, Year 1B Miss Crossley and Year 2: Monday 9^th November and Wednesday 11^th November.

   

  · Year 1A Ms Ingles: Monday 9^th November and Tuesday 10^th November.

   

  · Year 3, Year 4, Year 5: Tuesday 10^th November and Thursday 12^th November.

   

  · Year 6: Tuesday 10^th November and Wednesday 11^th November.

   

  · The Hive Miss Gough: Tuesday 10^thNovember.

   

  · Year 6 Mr Rigg’s English Group: Tuesday 10^th November.

   

  There will be no after school clubs taking place this week.

   

• Halloween Competition

  We are running a Halloween competition.  The children must enter using the purchased pumpkin template which will cost £1. NO REAL PUMPKINS to be brought into school.  Templates will be brought round to classes. All entries must be returned by Wednesday 21^st October.

• Meal Patterns

  If you wish to change your child’s meal pattern   after October half term you must email the school office: office@marlandhill.rochdale.sch.uk no later than Friday 23rd October

   

  Meal patterns are set per half term. School   dinners are £3.20 per day and are to be paid on parent mail.

   

• Year 2 Northwood Farm Visit

  Fri 16 Oct 2026

  Year 2 will be visiting Northwood Farm. Children will be invited to pet a range of farm animals. The farm visits will be as follows:

   

  · Year 2B Miss Parker’s class: Thursday 19^th November 2026

  · Year 2A Mr Hudson class: Friday 20^thNovember 2026

   

  Children need to arrive at school at 8.50am promptly

   

  There is a voluntary contribution of £10, which will go towards the cost of the visit and transport. The cost of the visit has been heavily subsidised by school. 

   

  For the farm visit, please can:

  · Children wear tracksuit bottoms (no jeans) with their usual school top/jumper.

  · Wear wellies -no school shoes please as the farm is muddy.

  Children can wear hats/gloves, but these may come back a little muddy. 

   

  Please go to parent mail and complete the consent form, which can be found in the forms section. To pay the £10 voluntary contribution please pay on parent mail by going to payments/shop
