The cost of the visit is heavily subsided by school. We are asking for a voluntary contribution of £3, which is to be paid on Parent Mail by going to payments/shop. Please complete the consent form on Parent Mail, which can be found in the forms section.
Below are the weekly attendance winners for each class. Please help support this achievement by reminding our winners and parents that they are to look after the prizes and they must be returned to school on Monday.

The children had a great time during our visit to Smithills Open Farm on Monday. They enjoyed riding on the donkeys and travelling up the hill on the back of the tractor. At the top of the hill they got to feed the donkeys some bread. The sheep in the barn were very greedy and the children had lots of fun feeding them. They saw lots of baby and adult animals and got to pet and hold some animals in the petting area.
The children said that the rabbits and chicks were very soft. Before setting off back to school they got to see a milking demonstration. The cows were very well behaved. Farmer Carl explained how the cows get milked and showed the children the pipes where the milk goes to get processed. He also told us that the milk we get in school sometimes comes from Smithills Dairy. All in all, everyone had a lovely day and was very tired by the end of the trip.
The Reception children have had lots of fun indoors and outdoors during this half term. They have especially enjoyed playing in the mud kitchen making petal soup. They have also loved the stage area, the sand tray and playing on the climbing frame. The children have loved taking on the role of a shop assistant or a customer in the Marland Hill Garden Centre. They have also enjoyed taking on different family roles in the home corner.
The children really enjoyed our walks to Forest School on Tuesday and Friday last week. They enjoyed getting out in the fresh air and looking for signs of spring. They found blossom on the trees, buds and new leaves growing on the trees and small yellow flowers. They also admired the pretty daffodils growing on Roch Valley Way. The liked listening to the birds who were singing very happily in the forest school area.
A reminder that the car park is for blue badge holders only. If you have a blue badge then please ensure the school office have a copy for this and display it clearly on your vehicle. The blue badge holder must be present in order to be able to access the car park.
Thank you.
