Year 2 Northwood Farm Visit

Year 2 will be visiting Northwood Farm. Children will be invited to pet a range of farm animals. The farm visits will be as follows:

· Year 2B Miss Parker’s class: Thursday 19^th November 2026

· Year 2A Mr Hudson class: Friday 20^th November 2026

Children need to arrive at school at 8.50am promptly.

There is a voluntary contribution of £10, which will go towards the cost of the visit and transport. The cost of the visit has been heavily subsidised by school.

For the farm visit, please can children wear:

· Tracksuit bottoms (no jeans) with their usual school top/jumper.

· Wellies -no school shoes please as the farm is muddy.

Children can wear hats/gloves, but these may come back muddy.

Please go to parent mail and complete the consent form, which can be found in the forms section. To pay the £10 voluntary contribution please pay on parent mail by going to payments/shop

School Council Visit to Rochdale Sports Club

As part of their School Council duties, our Year 6 children visited Rochdale Sports Club to attend a networking event. During the visit, they had the opportunity to learn more about exciting projects that the School Council can get involved in, as well as network with pupils from other schools across Rochdale. It was a valuable experience that allowed the children to share ideas, make new connections and explore ways to make a positive difference within their school and wider community.

Green Creations hosted a creative workshop for the children, where they made beautiful flowers using recyclable materials, encouraging creativity and promoting environmental awareness.

Year 6—R.E

As part of our RE unit, we have been exploring the question, 'Is it better to express your religion through arts and architecture or through charity and generosity?' We investigated how religious beliefs can be expressed in different ways and looked at the beauty and significance of religious buildings. To bring our learning to life, we designed and created our own model cathedrals, thinking carefully about their features and what makes them special. We have enjoyed exploring how art and architecture can express faith, while recognising that kindness, generosity and helping others are equally important ways of putting religious beliefs into action.
