Dear Year 1 parents,
World Book day is next week on Thursday 4th March, if your child is currently home learning they will need an empty cardboard box (e.g. cereal box) for their activities on this day. They will also be receiving a package from school this week that will contain resources for World Book day and also a ruler for this weeks Maths work.
Kind regards
Year 1 Staff
Some of you have kindly shared some lovely pictures of what you have been doing at home, we are so proud of all of you!
Maimoona has been busy learning to play the Tabla and enjoying the snow!
World Book Day will be celebrated on the Thursday 4th March. As we still be doing home learning at this point, the teachers have all planned for some book related activities which can be completed both in school and at home.
There is no expectation this year for children to dress up, however if you would like to dress up then feel free to send us a picture on teams or tapestry. Book tokens will be given out to children when they return to school on the 8th March.
Happy reading!
Some children have been telling us all about their superheroes and have done some fantastic work at home showing us who their own superheroes are and have come up with some very thoughtful ideas. Fantastic work!
Some of our children got very creative in making their own crocodiles using clay. They look fantastic, well done!
We close today for the half term holidays, therefore no remote learning will be set online for the children in the next coming week. Online work will resume on Monday 22nd February, and school will re-open from Monday 22nd February to our key worker children and nursery children ONLY, and only those who have had a confirmed place. We hope that you all stay safe and well, and enjoy the break. Please remember to keep checking your emails and the school website regularly for any important updates!
The following children won our ‘Star of the Week’ class awards, in recognition of their hard work and excellent efforts both in school and learning at home. Well done to everyone for all your hard work this week, and once again thank you parents for all your support.

Mr Hilton has devised a short circuit training program to keep our children in school, feeling energised and motivated! We think they enjoyed the break away from lessons. Hopefully they will continue to feel motivated at home!
Some of our year 3 children were very busy last week building lego models to celebrate ‘International Lego Day’. Thank you to those of you who sent in your photos to school. They are all excellent!
Next week school is closed for half term. Please may we remind you that if your child or a member of your household or support bubble is required to go for a Covid-19 test during the half term break, please email the school office to let us know (regardless of whether your child is currently attending school or not). When you receive the result, whether it is positive or negative, please can you email the school office with the result of the test. We appreciate your co-operation in this matter to help keep our school community safe. Thank you for your
continued support.
