• Weekly 100% Attendance

  This term, every week we will be looking at children’s attendance and all those children who have 100% attendance for the week will be put in to a draw to win 10 Dojos. There will be one random winner from each class.  To ensure your child is entered into this weekly draw, all you have to do is make sure they are in school on time every day.  Thank you for your continued support.

   

   

   

   

  

• Year 2 PSHE

  In PSHE Year 2 have been thinking about 'negotiation'. Pupils were set the challenge of creating a tower as a team but they were only given limited materials! Teams had to negotiate with each other to get everything they needed to build their towers. Everyone showed great negotiation skills and worked hard on their team working. 

   

  

• Year 2 Firehouse Visit

  As part of their history topic, Year 2 have been learning about the Great Fire of London and will be visiting the Rochdale Firehouse on the following dates:

  Year 2A Mrs Tahir: Wednesday 8^th February

  Year 2B Miss Moulton: Monday 6^th February

   

  There is a voluntary contribution of £7.50 but if we do not receive enough to pay then we may have to cancel the visit.

• Early Years Firefighter Visit

  Early Years thoroughly enjoyed their visit from Rochdale Fire Service this week as part of their topic on ‘People who help us’. The firefighters gave the children a real life experience of what it is like to be a firefighter, showing them all the equipment they use and showing the children around a fire engine!

   

  

• Book Swap

  Further to our plans to develop reading for pleasure, we are looking at setting up a ‘book swap’ opportunity in the foyer. This will enable you to call in and borrow a book to read at home with your child, then return it and choose another when you are ready. If you would like to donate any good quality books for this, please send them into school.

   

• IPLCN Football Tournament

  Fri 20 Jan 2023

  IPLCN football tournament at the Soccer Factory is next Wednesday 25^th January 2023. The tournament will be during the school day and so it will be normal drop off and pick up times for your child on this date. Children will be walking to the Soccer Factory after they have had their lunch in school.

   

  Please could you make sure your child has their P.E. kit, football boots or trainers (no metal studs), and shin-pads in school on Wednesday 25^th January.

   

• HIRB flying kites

  Last week the HIRB couldn’t go to forest school because of the wind so we took advantage of the weather and flew a kite a then made our own kites.

  Today is Mrs Mitchell’s last day before she begins her new job at a secondary school. We would like to thank her for all her hard work, and wish her good luck in her new job.
