  • Transition to high school-Falinge Park

    Fri 03 Jul 2020

For those children who will be starting Year 7 at Falinge Park in September, you should have received a letter from them explaining that all parents will be contacted at some point this week to arrange for a Zoom meeting with yourself and your child.

Please use this as an opportunity to ask any questions you may have and encourage your child to think about any questions they may have, to prepare them for their new school life.  They will be telephoning all parents and the number will not be displayed, so please be aware of this if you have a call from a number which is  not recognised.

Please can we encourage all our of Year 6 parents to regularly check the websites of your child’s new school, as we know many of them are posting transition videos and activities to help prepare children for their new environment.

  • Extreme Reading Challenge

    Fri 03 Jul 2020

To decorate our library walls, we are inviting children to send in photos to school of themselves reading in an unusual or random place.  For example, you might be reading in a paddling pool or on your garden swing?  Maybe you like to read  with your pet?  Ask your parents to take a photo of you and send it to the school office email address, office@marlandhill.rochdale.sch.uk.

Miss Green will be displaying as many as possible in the library.  Try to be original and creative but please be safe!  Mums and dads—please don’t let your children try anything that could put them at risk of having an accident or hurting themselves.  We look forward to receiving your entries!  Have fun everyone.
