Parking Around School
Fri 13 Sep 2019We have received complaints from a very concerned resident about parking on the streets around school. Please can we remind parents to be considerate when parking. Double parking and blocking access for residents and the emergency services is unacceptable. Please respect our neighbours and consider the effect irresponsible parking may have on them. Thank you for your co-operation.

Uniform
Fri 13 Sep 2019Thank you to all our parents for ensuring your children are wearing the correct uniform for the start of the new term. Please can we keep this up for the rest of the school year. It is lovely to see our children looking so smart!

Fun Run
Fri 13 Sep 2019On Sunday 6th October at 10am, the Williams BMW Fun Run will take place. The run is suitable for all the family, whether you're raising money for a worthwhile cause, remembering a loved one or simply keeping active. Mums, dads, toddlers, groups running together, fancy dress, music and fabulous fun!! The 1-mile route sets out from Rochdale Town Hall and up into the beautiful Broadfield Park, taking a very scenic route around the award winning historic grounds. There's a steep challenging climb up past the John Bright statue before entering the park. While the rest of the course climbs gradually, once you reach the bandstand it’s all downhill to The Esplanade for the return to the finish line at the town hall. See the Fun Run route on
MapMyRun To enter go to Rochdale.gov.uk/run. Minimum age for entry is 4 years. The cost for entry is £6.90. All entrants receive a medal.

Aldi 'Kit for Schools' Stickers
Fri 13 Sep 2019We have started collecting the ‘Aldi Kit for Schools’ stickers. Please don’t dispose of any you are given—there is a box in the foyer you can drop them into. The more we receive the more chances we have of a free kit for school! Thanks for your support!

Autumn Term After School Clubs
Fri 06 Sep 2019After school clubs will commence week beginning Monday 16th September. Letters have gone home this week with your children. Please check school bags and return to school asap to reserve a place for your child. Letters can also be collected from the school office, or downloaded from the school website ‘letters home’ page. Welcome Back!
Fri 06 Sep 2019Welcome back to a new school year. I hope you all had a lovely summer, and are ready for the new year. We would also like to welcome a number of new staff to school: Miss Valentine in Reception, Miss Bohuslaw in Year 2, Mr Wood in Year 3, Miss Sharma in Year 5, and Mrs Cassell in Year 6, as well as to welcome back Mr Rigg, our Acting Deputy Headteacher. I am sure you will join me in welcoming them to Marland Hill. As ever, the leadership team continues with their open door policy, so if you have anything you wish to discuss, please call into the office to arrange a time to come in.

Parent Drop - In
Fri 06 Sep 2019Our first parent drop-in this term will be held on 16th September at 9am. Mrs Pridgeon, our Acting Headteacher, will be on hand to meet with any parents who wish to attend for an informal chat and refreshments. Please come along!

P.E. Kit Reminder
Fri 06 Sep 2019Please may we remind parents that children must always have their P.E. Kits in school. This can be left in school for the whole half term, and sent home with children for a wash during school holidays. Please observe, as explained below, that P.E. kits should be plain, with no logos, and each item should be clearly labelled with your child’s name. Thank you for your continued support.
