A small group of year 6 pupils attended a writers workshop as part of the Gifted & Talented learning opportunities. This workshop, which take place over 3 separate days, is aimed at teaching various skills including narrative writing, poetry, drama & role play and presentation skills.
This term, every week we will be looking at children’s attendance and all those children who have 100% attendance for the week will be put in to a draw to win 10 Dojos. There will be one random winner from each class. To ensure your child is entered into this weekly draw, all you have to do is make sure they are in school on time every day. Thank you for your continued support.
Fauzia and her family will be completing the Walk of Hope to raise money for Brain Tumour Research in memory of her son and our Reception pupil from last year, Saqib Raza Ahmed who sadly passed away from a rare brain tumour. If you would like to donate the JustGiving link is

Hola! Bonjour! Salut!
Monday 26th September is European Day of Languages and any child in Y4, Y5 or Y6 who wants to complete the French Language Challenge that was sent out by parentmail last week needs to return it by Monday.
The following children have been awarded ‘Star Reader’ and enjoyed going to the ‘Starbooks’ cafe in the library to enjoy a drink and a treat as their reward. Fantastic!
We have had a number of children in school with head lice . Please kindly check your child’s head regularly and treat as necessary. If we all work together we can eliminate the problem quickly.
Please ensure your child’s name is clearly marked on their school uniform, PE kit and school coat. We are unable to identify items that may be found on the playground or other areas around school if it does not have their name clearly marked on them.
Please can we remind parents/carers to ensure that they come in their PE kit on their PE day. The PE timetable is as below:

If your child attends after school club, they should come in their PE kit on this day. Thank you.
Last week some children enjoyed baking home grown vegetable scones. They used different vegetables including peppers, courgettes, and tomatoes.
If your child is currently on the Read, Write, Inc. phonics programme, they will be given a set of word list bookmarks this week. These words are called 'red words' and are words that cannot be sounded out. These words link to each level of our reading scheme to support your child to practice reading them before they come across them in their story books. It would be a fantastic support if you could help your child to practice reading the words that link to their current storybook colour eg. pink word list if they bring a pink book home.
