• Reading Workshops

  We have been holding Reading workshops on Mondays from 9am-9.30am in the school hall, to promote the benefits of positive reading with your child. Parents/carers are invited to attend, tea/coffee will be provided. The dates are as follows:

  · Monday 28th November – Year 4

  · Monday 5th December – Year 3

   

  As a school, we are working on promoting a love of reading and it would be great to have parents as positive reading role models for the children. We hope to see as many parents as possible.

• Christmas Assemblies Thursday 15th December

  This year we will be holding two Christmas assemblies - one for EYFS & KS1 and one for KS2.

  Parents are welcome to come and join us for some festive singing.

   

• Christmas Lunch & Jumper Day Wednesday 14th December

  If your child normally brings a packed lunch but would like to enjoy a Christmas lunch on Wednesday 14th December, please email the school office at office@marlandhill.rochdale.sch.uk before Friday 2nd December to order and pay £2.65 into your child’s ParentMail dinner money account. (If your child is in receipt of free school meals you do not need to pay)

  If your child usually has a school dinner, they will be provided with a Christmas Lunch.  All children are welcome to wear their Christmas Jumper again on Christmas Dinner day.

   

   

  

• Christmas Jumper Day Thursday 8th December

  Christmas Jumper Day is on Thursday 8th December.

  Donations are much appreciated and will be given to the Save The Children fund.

   

  

• Nursery & Reception Story Magic Thursday 1st December

  On Thursday 1^st December, we have a theatre company visiting the school, who will be performing a show for our Reception and Nursery classes. The performance will be in the morning.

  Those children who usually attend the afternoon nursery sessions are welcome to attend the pantomime on this day and watch the pantomime from 9.30am – 10.30am. They will need to be dropped off at school at 9.30am and collected at 10.30am. Afternoon Nursery will go ahead as normal on this day.

  We are asking for a voluntary donation of £3 per child to go towards the cost of the pantomime.  All contributions are much appreciated.

   

   

   

   

   

   

   

   

• Christmas Parties and Grab Bags Friday 16th December

  On the afternoon of our last day of term we will be holding our Christmas parties. The children will be enjoying party games and food in their classrooms. Due to their popularity last year we will be having Christmas grab bags on the last day as part of the parties. Children who would normally be on packed lunches are welcome to bring their own lunch or they can order a grab bag for the day.
