Please remind children to bring in their water bottles, clearly labelled with their name on it. Thank you.
Well done to the children in Year 4 for creating a model of shields as part of their homework for their Roman topic.
On Monday 30th March, our Reception classes will be visiting Smithills Farm in Bolton where they will be looking at animal families and the changes they go through as they grow. The children will have the opportunity to handle and feed many of the animals and as a special treat they will be able to ride on a donkey and travel around the farm on a tractor trailer.
All children must wear school uniform on the school trip and please ensure your child is wearing appropriate shoes, coat, hat, sun cream etc. according to the weather.
The cost of the trip will be £12 per child. This is a voluntary contribution towards the cost of the visit and transport, however if there is not enough money collected the trip will be cancelled. This cost of the trip has been heavily subsidised by school.
Please go to parent mail and complete the consent form (found in the forms section) and please pay for the visit (payments/then shop)
As part of their History topic, Year 6 have been learning about World War 2 and will be visiting the Imperial War Museum on Wednesday 18th March 2026.
School is subsidising the cost of the trip, but we ask for a parental contribution of £5. This is a voluntary contribution, however if we are not able to cover the cost we may need to cancel the visit.
Please go to parent mail and complete the consent form (found in the forms section) and please pay for the visit (payments/then shop).
Please can we remind parents/carers to not make routine appointments in school time as this disrupts your child’s learning and their attendance.
We know that this can be difficult but you are able to inform the dentist for example of the holiday patterns to get an appointment in the school holidays or outside school day hours.
Thank you.
A reminder to ensure that school has your most up to date information such as address/contacts.
You can email school for any updates: office@marlandhill.rochdale.sch.uk
Thank you.
As the month of Ramadan is starting, Year 5 and 6 children can fast if they wish to once they have reached puberty, parents/carers will need to complete the consent form on parent mail, which can be found in the forms section.
Thank you.
If you are planning to take any leave in term time it is important that you inform the school office BEFORE BOOKING so that we can give you the correct information about policies around fines and how it will affect your child’s attendance.
Thank you.
Below are the weekly attendance winners for each class. Please help support this achievement by reminding our winners and parents that they are to look after the prizes and they must be returned to school on Monday.
