Next week flutes will be taking place on Thursday instead of Monday. Thank you.
This term, every week we will be looking at children’s attendance and all those children who have 100% attendance for the week will be put in to a draw to win 10 Dojos. There will be one random winner from each class. To ensure your child is entered into this weekly draw, all you have to do is make sure they are in school on time every day. Thank you for your continued support.

Our nursery is full at present, but we are now taking applications for September 2024, the deadline for this is the 31st of March 2024 and applications forms are available from the office.
A polite reminder that if your child brings in a packed lunch to school please can you ensure that it contains no hot foods/flasks. Please ensure you follow the healthy eating guidelines – so no flavoured drinks/juices etc. Thank you.
Please can we remind parents/carers that when making any routine appointments, please ensure they are made outside of school time as otherwise this disrupts the children’s learning time. Any hospital/urgent appointments—please inform school and provide letters/phone messages as evidence.
Thank you.
This term the reading workshops will be as follows:
· Tuesday 30th January—Year 1
· Tuesday 6th February—Year 5
Sessions will run 9.00am-9.30am. Tea/coffee will be provided. As a school, we are working on promoting a love of reading and it would be great to have parents as positive reading role models for the children. We hope to see as many parents as possible.
We have had a busy start to the half term in Year 2!
In Maths we have started our unit of work on division. We have been using resources in Maths to share objects and show our working out. We have looked at different ways to divide using different strategies and methods to give the children a wealth of knowledge. We have now started looking at how multiplication facts can help us to divide using fact families.
In History, we have started to learn all about The Great Fire of London. So far, we have learnt about how the fire started and why it spread across London. In the coming weeks we will learn about how the fire was eventually stopped and the significant people from this event.
Our Design Technology project this half term links to our History learning. We will be designing and making a fire engine. This week the children have been investigating the different axels used to make a moving mechanism.
