  • A letter from the Queen!

    We received a very exciting letter from the Queen this week.

     

    Year 1 sent some photos of their project work and designs for Her Majesty to see.

     

    She thanked us for our work and was glad to hear from us. Her Majesty also sent us some information about where she lives and what her day is like.

     

    It was lovely to get a reply from such a busy lady.
     

  • Pirates and Princesses Disco

    Thank you to everyone who came to the Pirates and Princesses disco tonight!  There were lots of fabulous costumes and some amazing dancing going on!

    As you all know, we value your feedback and contribution to continue to make improvements at Marland Hill. I am delighted to have been approached by a number of parents asking how they can play a more active role in school life.     Sign 2 Sing Assembly

     

    Thank you to everyone who took part in our Sign 2 Sing Assembly on Friday 5th February.


    The whole school took part in signing a song which was led by our HI staff and our amazing Signing Choir.

  • Pottery at Matthew Moss

  • Celebration Assembly

    The following children have received a certificate for their hard work in this morning’s Celebration Assembly:

     

    Yumna Hussain  for fantastic independent writing at self-chosen time.


    Aleeza Sohail for her fantastic attitude to learning and amazing writing.


    Mahek Hussain for her good non-chronological report writing in literacy.


    Nisaa Ali for her amazing progress in all subjects.

    Our Art group have been taking part in a range of art activities including Silk Painting and Pottery.

  • Year 4 Roman Day

    Our Year 4 children enjoyed a visit from the "Makers of History" who provided a Roman Day experience for the children.

     

    A workshop highlights the effects of the Roman invasion on the British Celts.

     

     The children, through Drama, Arts & Crafts and Role Play looked at:

    • Why did the Romans come to Britain?
    • A Soldier’s Life
    • School Days
    • Childhood and Games
    • Bathing and Slavery
    • Table Manners
    • Military Drill
    • The Rebel and the Emperor

     

    As you will see from the pictures everyone thoroughly enjoyed the day!
