  As you know, the school was inspected on Wednesday 9th and Thursday 10th May. We expect to be able to share the report in 3 to 4 weeks once we have it. Huge thanks for your continued support.

   

• PTA Cake Sale

  Our PTA will be having a cake sale on Friday 11th May after school at 3pm. Cakes will be available to buy in the playground. Make sure you bring some change if you'd like to buy cakes. We hope to see you there. 

  

• Royal Wedding Buffet

  To celebrate the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle we are having a Royal Buffet for our school dinner on Friday 18th May.  if your child would like to have school lunch on this day please send £2.10 into the school office marked Royal Buffet.   Thank you.

  

• Tesco Farm to Fork

  Please note the date has been changed for Year 1 to visit Tesco as part of their work on food.  They will now be going on Thursday 17th May.  Please ensure you send the permission slip back in to school so your child is able to attend.  Thank you.

  

• Year 4 RE Visits

  Year 4 went to look around St Aidan's church on Wednesday as part of their RE topic on special places.

   

  They will be going to Neeli Mosque next week.

  

• Roman Visit Year 4

  A Roman visitor dropped in to see our Year 4's on Thursday.  They dressed up in Roman costumes and looked at replica Roman artefacts.  All of Year 4 learned lots of useful information for our topic on Romans.

  

• Smithills Farm

  Fri 04 May 2018
  Our Nursery class visited Smithills Farm on Tuesday and Wednesday this week.  They had a fabulous time learning about the farm animals and travelling on a tractor.

  

• Lost Property

  We have a large amount of Lost Property in the school office from unnamed uniform to packed lunches and glasses. Our PTA will be displaying all lost property in the school playground on Tuesday 1st May. It will be on display when the school gates open at approximately 2.45pm and will be available to view whilst you collect your child from school. Please come and have a look if your child has lost anything this school year. Please note that if lost property is not collected on Tuesday it will be donated to charity. Thank you. 

• Calendar Dates

  We have a number of things happening over our Summer terms. Next week we have our half price book fair. It will be running from Monday 23rd April until Thursday 26th April. It will be open from 3pm each day. They are some fantastic books available for half the RRP.

   

  On Monday 30th Reception and Year 6 will be having their class photos taken. There is an opportunity in the autumn term for individual photos.

• Community Cohesion

  Our Community Cohesion ambassadors worked in partnership with Hamer Primary School and Rochdale Sixth Form College. They did some excellent work on diversity within families and communities. What does diversity in families mean/look like. They then designed carnival floats to celebrate difference.

   

  In the morning we discussed the ethos and values of a community. In the afternoon colleagues from the Local Authority and construction firm Wilmott Dixon visited and they learnt all about the construction industry and how to build electric circuits. We also looked at how to physically build a community – ie with buildings.

   

  Please have a look at our photos below which show the children unpicking diversity and difference through various different texts and some of us all having a go at building circuits – it was great to see the Headteachers also joining in!!

   

  We are looking forward to our next session at Hamer in May!
