• Middleton Arena

  This week we went to Middleton Arena to watch the Pantomime 'Aladdin'.  Some of the children were  lucky (and brave) enough to take part!  Lost of fun was had by all.  

  

• Story Magic

  On Friday 30th November we had a visit from the Story Magic theatre group, who came in to perform Aladdin to our younger children in the Nursery and Reception classes, who all enjoyed watching the show!

  

• IPLCN Football Champions!

  Well done to our superb football team who competed in the IPLCN football competition at the Soccer Factory this week, and brought home the trophy!  Here they are looking super pleased with themselves as they should be!  Well done to all those who took part.

  

• Christmas Dinner / Christmas Jumper Day

  This year’s Christmas Jumper /Christmas Dinner Day will be held on Thursday 20th Dec. If your child would like to order a Christmas dinner, please send £2.15 into the school office by 14th December. We look forward to seeing some very festive jumpers!

   

  

• Reading University

  The Inspirational Reading University launch for selected Year 4 children was held on Tues 27th Nov at Number One Riverside. This was the first time the participating schools met and shared a book. We are looking forward to sharing more books, and poems and working together in the future!

   

  

• Community Cohesion

  Our group of Community Cohesion children went to Rochdale Sixth Form College on Tuesday to have a look around. They had a fantastic time with other pupils from Hamer school and the college students.

   

  

• EYFS Christmas Concert

  This year our Nursery and Reception classes will be performing ‘Say Hello To Little Jo’ for their Christmas Concerts. They will be performing to parents on Tuesday 11th December at 1:30pm and Wednesday 12th December at 9:30am.   The children and staff have worked extremely hard and we look forward to welcoming our parents and carers to the show. We hope you enjoy it!

  

• Prize Draw!

  Thank you to all our parents and carers who took the time to complete a free school meals application form in the last couple of weeks.  For every child whose form was returned, we issued a raffle ticket to win a Kindle Fire HD!  On Monday 12th November, all the raffle tickets were put into a hat and a winning ticket was drawn.  We are happy to announce the winner of the prize was Adam Whelan!  Congratulations to him and thank you everybody for your support.

  

• Year 6 Booster Sessions

  Our year 6 teachers will be holding ‘booster’ session classes from next week, in the morning before school starts. If your child can benefit from these classes you will receive a letter home with your child. We encourage parents to allow children to attend these classes, which are designed to boost their confidence in a given subject and help support them in their upcoming SATS examinations. Please return the permission slip to your child’s teacher or to the school office as soon as possible so that your child does not miss out of these lessons.
