For those children who will be starting Year 7 at Falinge Park in September, you should have received a letter from them explaining that all parents will be contacted at some point this week to arrange for a Zoom meeting with yourself and your child.
Please use this as an opportunity to ask any questions you may have and encourage your child to think about any questions they may have, to prepare them for their new school life. They will be telephoning all parents and the number will not be displayed, so please be aware of this if you have a call from a number which is not recognised.
Please can we encourage all our of Year 6 parents to regularly check the websites of your child’s new school, as we know many of them are posting transition videos and activities to help prepare children for their new environment.
To decorate our library walls, we are inviting children to send in photos to school of themselves reading in an unusual or random place. For example, you might be reading in a paddling pool or on your garden swing? Maybe you like to read with your pet? Ask your parents to take a photo of you and send it to the school office email address, office@marlandhill.rochdale.sch.uk.
Miss Green will be displaying as many as possible in the library. Try to be original and creative but please be safe! Mums and dads—please don’t let your children try anything that could put them at risk of having an accident or hurting themselves. We look forward to receiving your entries! Have fun everyone.

As per the latest government advice, school will continue to provide FSM vouchers to those parents who are entitled during the summer holidays whilst school is closed.
Please note that the last day of this term and our school year is on Thursday 16th July. This is the last day the school will be open until September 2020. We have no plans to be open to any pupils during the summer closure, but will of course keep you informed and notify you of any change to this decision.
If you had paid any money towards a school trip for your child this year, which was sadly cancelled, we are currently in the process of arranging refunds. Mrs Clegg in the school office will contact you shortly to arrange when you can collect these from the school office.
This week, some of our children have been making animals. They look amazing well done everyone!
Well done to Maria who was one of our lucky Easter Raffle winners.
Other winners should have received a text from school this week to pick up their prize. Well done to all of you.
Welcome back to some of our Reception children this week. We hope you have all enjoyed being back. It has been really lovely to see you all! Please may we remind parents and carers of our current school hours below.

We cannot guarantee this will be possible, but we will try to accommodate you as best as we can. After this date we will be unable to take any more children for the remainder of the term.
