Our Year 3 children enjoyed their visit to the M6 Theatre last week, alongside Alkrington Primary School children as part of our ‘Linking Schools’ project. The children watched the show and even got to take part in a workshop with the actors!
The year 2 children have just finished a six week training session from Lancashire Cricket Club. The children have been learning about batting, bowling, throwing and catching and using these skills in games. A big thank you to Lancashire County Cricket Club for the excellent coaching our children have received.
To celebrate Anti-Bullying week this week the whole school have been looking at what bullying is and how to recognise it. The children also spent some time looking at ways we can reduce bullying and what to do if we see it
happening. A huge thank you to all those who wore odd socks on Tuesday to raise awareness. The Anti -Bullying week theme for this year was "Change starts with us"
On Monday 11th November, the children and staff wore their poppies with pride and held a one minute silence at 11am in honour of Remembrance day. Well done children! You were all very respectful.
Qasim remains the winner for another week. He is still our fastest mathematician, with a time of 0.49 seconds. Well done Qasim!
Please may we remind parents that children attending breakfast club should be escorted into school by a parent/guardian. Please do not drop your children off at the bottom of the path to walk into school alone. Thank you for your co-operation.

Week commencing Monday 11th November is national Anti-Bullying week This year the theme is ‘Change Starts With Us’. As part of our anti-bullying awareness week, we are asking the children to join in with our ‘odd socks day’ on Tuesday 12th November. Please can all children come to school wearing odd socks.
Don’t forget ‘Children In Need’ day next Friday 15th November. We are asking for donations of £1 in return for children wearing non uniform. Reception and Nursery children can attend school wearing ‘spots’ or their pyjamas, and our older children are being asked to dress in a ‘Rock Star’ theme. We look forward to seeing some fantastic outfits.
Letters have gone home today with your children for the Christmas Pantomime at Middleton Arena. Please can you return the permission slip to the school office as soon as possible. Thank you.
The nursery children will not have received letters as they will be watching a pantomime at school instead! We have a theatre company coming into school who will be performing 'Sleeping Beauty' for our nursery class. More information about this will be sent home soon.
