In History the children had their classrooms turned into ‘caves’ so they could complete cave drawings in oil pastels. They used stencils to draw animals and hunters. Their classrooms were dark and they had torches surrounding them to create the effect of a cave. The children were very excited!

The children also went to our local forest school so they could become ‘hunters and gatherers’ from The Stone Age. They found a variety of items such as berries, willow and animal skin. We discussed how certain berries may have been poisonous and what people from The Stone Age would have done about this. We also discussed what they may have made with animal skin. They collected a variety of natural items and brought them back to school, ready for some creative work with the willow.

In Science we have been learning about rocks and fossils! The children had a go at creating some of their own dinosaur fossils which they have proudly taken home!

With the willow that was collect from forest school, the children did some weaving which was very tricky! The children needed lots of patience and perseverance for this task.
