Thank you to all the staff, parents and carers who turned up to our very first eco shop of the school year. With your support, we have now managed to save 214 containers in total! With every refill, you are playing your part in making a huge difference to our environment. Thank you all once again!

Year 2 will be visiting Northwood Farm. Children will be invited to pet a range of farm animals. The farm visits will be as follows:
· Year 2A Miss Gough: Friday 7th November
· Year 2B Miss Parker’s class: Thursday 6th November
There is a voluntary contribution of £10, which will go towards the cost of the visit and transport. The cost of the visit has been heavily subsidised by school.
For the farm visit, please can:
· Children wear tracksuit bottoms (no jeans) with their usual school top/jumper.
· Wear wellies -no school shoes please as the farm is muddy.
Children can wear hats/gloves, but these may come back a little muddy.

Year 5A Mrs Sodawala’s class will be going to Castleton library on Monday 13th October. They will be taking part in a creative workshop.
Children will be walking to and from the library. Children will be back to have their lunch in school. Children who normally have a school dinner will be provided a grab bag, those on packed lunches will need to bring their lunch as normal.
Please can you ensure children bring with them their water bottle and wear appropriate footwear and a jacket prepared for all weather.
The site will also be taking photos for advertisement around the community.
Please go to parent mail and complete the consent form for your child to attend and also for their photo to be taken, which can be found in the forms section.
Year 6 will be going to Rochdale Pioneers Museum on Friday 10th October. Children will be walking to the museum and back with members of school staff, so please ensure your child wears their school uniform and a suitable coat, hat, shoes etc. according to the weather.
The children will take part in a workshop as part of the visit so we are asking parents for a voluntary contribution of £2 towards the cost of this. This can be made with the shop section of parent mail.
You will need to complete the consent form on parent mail, which can be found in the forms section. Please complete this as soon as possible.
The next reading workshop will be as follows:
· Friday 10th October - Year 3
· Friday 17th October - Year 2
· Friday 24th October - Year 1
They will be taking place in the school hall 2.30pm-3pm.
Tea/Coffee will be provided.
