The following children have been awarded ‘Star Reader’ and enjoyed going to the ‘Starbooks’ cafe in the library to enjoy a drink and a treat as their reward. Fantastic!

On Friday 8th December we will be holding a Christmas Assembly for Grandparents at 9.10am. We would like to invite grandparents in for a tea, coffee and a mince pie whilst our choirs perform some Christmas songs for you.

As part of Rochdale Town Centres Festive celebrations there is a Santa’s post box which is located at Rochdale Riverside – opposite Nando’s.  The photo below shows the  post box.

Children are encouraged to get creative and prepare their Christmas letters for Santa. To ensure they get a reply from Santa letters must be posted before the 18^th Dec (letters from Santa will be sent back to the school so please ensure  letters from the children state the name of the school). We hope lots of children take the opportunity to write a letter to Father Christmas.

Year 2 visited the farm visit this week and all had a lovely time despite the cold weather.

This term, every week we will be looking at children’s attendance and all those children who have 100% attendance for the week will be put in to a draw to win 10 Dojos. There will be one random winner from each class.  To ensure your child is entered into this weekly draw, all you have to do is make sure they are in school on time every day.  Thank you for your continued support.

Our Christmas lunch will be served this year on Wednesday 20th December. If your child normally brings a packed lunch but would like to enjoy a Christmas lunch, please email the school office at office@marlandhill.rochdale.sch.uk before Friday 8th December to order.

A polite reminder that packed lunches should not contain any hot foods such as burgers or chips. This is for health and safety reasons. Thank you for your continued support.
