Year 3 had a visit from the poet and author Craig Bradley, who recited some poetry for them. The children really enjoyed the performance, which included some magic and music. For more information see Craig’s website www.craigbradley.com
We held an IPLCN netball competition at Marland Hill on Wednesday 23rd May. Marland Hill got through to the final and were narrowly beaten 2-1 by Spotland Primary.
Our star player was Alfie Croston who scored 9 goals! Well done to the whole team!
Your Marland Hill PTA is currently busy planning the Eid/Summer Fair, which will take place on Wednesday 13th June from 3pm onwards.
One of the stalls we would like to have is a Nearly New Toy Stall. For this to happen we are kindly asking for toy donations.
Please NO broken toys or puzzles/games with missing pieces.
Any donations can be dropped off at the school office from Monday 4th June to Friday 8th June. Thank you.
Our Year 1 classes went to visit St Aidan’s Church on Monday 21st May as part of their RE topic work on Special Places. They identified all the key areas in a church. They will be going to the Neeli Mosque next half term.
Our Reception classes went to visit Smithills Farm in Bolton on Monday 14th May. They had a fantastic time. Children went on the tractor, had a donkey ride and fed the animals. They learnt a lot about all the animals.
Thank you to everyone who came to the PTA cake sale last Friday and thank you to our PTA for organising the event.
The PTA raised a fantastic £115 and the cakes sold out! The money raised will buy goods for Eid/Summer Fair on Wednesday 13th June
To celebrate the Royal Wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle we will be having a non-uniform day on Friday 18th May. Children are welcome to come in their own clothes. We encourage children to wear the colours of Red, White and Blue to symbolise the British Flag.
Thank you for your continued support.
Year 2 will be undertaking their SATs examinations from Monday 21st May to Friday 25th May.
As you know, this is an important time for Year 2 children who have all been working very hard throughout the year and will continue to do so to build upon learning in preparation for their SATS.
It would be greatly appreciated if you can continue to support us by making sure that all children are in school every day and on time to encourage them to achieve their maximum potential. Thank you for your continued support.
