Year 3 classes will be involved in the Rochdale Linking Network this academic year. This is part of a national Linking Network programme for schools – designed to help children develop their understanding of identity, diversity, uniqueness and belonging. As part of the project, both classes and their ‘link’ class will jointly visit M6 Theatre in Rochdale. Mrs Hall’s class will go on Monday 12^th November and Miss Moulton’s class will go on Monday 19^th November. Please ensure the reply slip is returned to school as soon as possible.

 

Some of our children took part in the IPLCN Football Tournament at the Soccer Factory on Thursday 18th October.  The children performed amazingly and won the competition!  Well done to all who took part!

After half term on Monday 5th November, we will be holding a friendly Netball match against Spotland Primary School (after school).  We will send a letter home after half term with further information to parents of those children taking part.

We have been made aware of an issue in a local school this week with children putting magnetic ball bearings in their mouths to look like they have piercings. Children have accidentally swallowed the ball bearings, which in some cases, can lead to them requiring surgery. We will be holding another Admissions Workshop for parents of our current Year 6 children, who would like some guidance on the transfer to High School process for their children.  High School applications need to be submitted by 31st October.  This session will be held on Tuesday 16th October at 2pm.  Please feel free to drop in if you would like some assistance.

From Monday 15th October we are introducing new rules for mobile phones in school.  Only Year 6 children with permission to walk to and from school are allowed to bring a phone to school, if you deem it to be necessary.  On arrival to school, including those attending Breakfast Club, all phones must be immediately handed into the office for safe-keeping.  These phones can only be collected at home time.  Any child found to be in possession of a phone will have it confiscated.  Parents/carers will be contacted and will be expected to collect it from the office in person.  Thank you for your continued support.

If your child is 3 years old, we currently have spaces in our nursery.  During our recent Ofsted inspection, our Early Years unit was judged to be "OUTSTANDING".  We offer morning or afternoon places and can also offer 30 hour places subject to eligibility.  If you are interested in your child starting with us or have any questions at all then please contact the school office and the team will be happy to assist.

Well done to our Year 6 pupils who came third in the netball competition held at Marland Hill on Tuesday 2nd October. They played brilliantly, well done!
