  • Parking outside school

    Please may we ask parents and carers to be considerate to others when parking outside school. Blocking of the pedestrian entrance is not allowed and is dangerous to those on foot who have to gain access by walking in the road. Thank you for your co-operation.

     

  • Nasal Flu Vaccinations

    If your child still requires the nasal flu vaccine, there is a pop up session at Nye Bevan Health Centre on Maclure Road, Rochdale on Thursday 17th January from 4.30-7.00pm. If you would like to attend you can fill in the consent form online at

  • Community Cohesion

    On Tuesday our Community Cohesion group, along with 8 other pupils from Hamer Primary School, attended an ‘Afternoon with the Mayor’ at the Town Hall. The children were given the opportunity to ask the Mayor a range of questions for the Mayor to answer. The children represented Marland Hill school excellently and they even got a chance to sit in the seats of the Council Chamber!

     

     

  • Social Media

    Please may we ask our parents and carers to be vigilant with children who are using messaging platforms through PS4 and other apps such as Roblox. Parental controls can be set to monitor safety, please ensure that your child is using these safely.  

     

  • Year 4 Swimming Lessons

    These will commence week beginning 4th February. Mr Hudson’s class will be going on Tuesday afternoons to Heywood Swimming Pool and Miss Wright’s class will be going on Friday afternoons to Rochdale Swimming Pool. Please ensure your child has suitable kit with them on these days every week: A swimming costume/trunks and a towel.

    Letters were sent home last week with your child. Please send in your permission slips asap so your child can take part in these lessons.

     

  • Year 4 Topic

    This term the theme for our Year 4 topic is ‘Romans’ and they have been busy this week creating some very realistic chariots! We are looking forward to some fantastic examples of ‘Roman’ themed homework for our Year 4 pupils!

     

  • After School Clubs - Spring Term

    We have our new schedule of after school sports clubs ready for the spring term!  Children may participate in the activity selected for their year group, and clubs are rotated between the year groups throughout the year.  All the clubs begin at 3pm and finish at 4:15pm.  Please return the reply slip to school to secure your child's place!  Your child will need a PE kit in school to take part.

  • This week at Marland Hill

    Our final week of term has been very festive and busy.  Yesterday we all enjoyed our Christmas lunch, wearing our Christmas jumpers!  Today we had our 'Singing Around The Tree' concert and our children enjoyed their Christmas parties. 

     

    We were also very grateful to receive a visit from H. Bells this week, who kindly donated chocolate selection boxes for the children.  Many thanks to them!

    Our PTA Christmas Raffle tickets are on sale at tuck shop for KS2 pupils from Monday 3rd December at 25p per ticket or £1 a strip. For EYFS/KS1 students a pink envelope for raffle money will be sent home to be returned to school with your name on. Raffle tickets will be given to children and entered into the draw.  This year's star prize is a choice between a Laptop, a PS4 or a Tablet.  Good luck everybody!
