Every week during PE Mr Hilton chooses pupils from each year group to be his PE superstars of the week. Mr Hilton has chosen the following children who were fantastic in PE last week:  Well done everyone!

This week’s winner is still Abdul in Year 3,  with a time of 0.48 seconds again.  Well done to him!

On Tuesday, we held an Instrumental Workshop in the school hall.  Many of our IPLCN schools attended and took part, along with a tutor from Rochdale Music Service.  The children all had a great time, trying out different instruments and playing together.

Please note that if your child is going into Year 3 this September, they are no longer entitled to Universal free school meals.  School meals will be £2.20 per day from September, and are payable in advance.  If you are in receipt of certain benefits, your child may still be entitled to free school meals.  Please collect a form from the school office to apply. 

Please note that all arrears for this school year should be paid before the end of term on Wednesday 17th July.  Thank you for your co-operation.

Just a reminder that our Year 6 Leavers’ Ball will take place on Tuesday 16th July at 5:30pm!  We look forward to celebrating with you all one last time.  Have a fabulous evening everybody!  Parents—please may we remind you to pick up children from the school office at 7:30pm.

On Wednesday this week we had our medal presentation evening for our Year 6 children who will be leaving us next week.  All the children received their medals to acknowledge their time and achievements at Marland Hill.  Good luck to them all at High School.  We will  miss you!

Some of our Year 6 children attended an Athletics competition with other IPLCN schools,, at Greenbank Primary last Friday.  They came 2nd place by losing just 1 point! Well done to them all.  Very close indeed

On Monday, our football team played against Spotland Primary School in a friendly match.  Unfortunately they didn’t win but played superbly.  Well done to them all.

Well done to all the Year 5 and Year 6 students who bravely performed in front of their peers and their parents this week, at our annual talent contest ‘Marland’s Got Talent’.  We watched some very impressive acts.  Well done to all of you who took part.
