European Day of Languages on Monday went really well. Year 6 enjoyed researching other European languages. Year 3 learned a song in Spanish, which they performed in class and Key Stage 2 children recorded themselves performing French nursery rhymes to share with younger pupils. Pupils who speak languages other than English at home shared these with their friends in class.
Adam Y5 and Rumaysa Y6 were the winners of the Languages homework challenge and won a French book as well as dojos as their prize. Well Done!
A reminder that those Year 4 pupils who have been selected to attend the Football Tournament, will be going on Wednesday 5th October., within the school day. Please ensure your child brings in their full football kit in with them on this day. Thank you.
A polite reminder that Marland Hill has a healthy eating approach, which promotes food such as fruit and vegetables and discourages the consumption of foods such as crisps and sweets. Children are encouraged to drink water throughout the day and we ask that children please continue to bring in their own water bottles (filled with water only) from home, clearly labelled with their name on.
If your child brings in a packed lunch to school, please can you ensure that the healthy eating approach is followed.
A polite reminder to please ensure that you have sent in your child’s data collection sheet completed and signed back to school with your child. School cannot release children to adults who are not on your child’s pick up list. Thank you for your continued support.
A reminder that if you are dropping your child to breakfast club to please ensure you come in to the school office to drop them and ensure they are “handed over” to an adult. Thank you.
Please can we remind parents/carers that any routine appointments for your child, such as dentist or opticians should be made outside of school hours. Thank you.
A small group of year 6 pupils attended a writers workshop as part of the Gifted & Talented learning opportunities. This workshop, which take place over 3 separate days, is aimed at teaching various skills including narrative writing, poetry, drama & role play and presentation skills.
This term, every week we will be looking at children’s attendance and all those children who have 100% attendance for the week will be put in to a draw to win 10 Dojos. There will be one random winner from each class. To ensure your child is entered into this weekly draw, all you have to do is make sure they are in school on time every day. Thank you for your continued support.
