This term, every week we will be looking at children’s attendance and all those children who have 100% attendance for the week will be put in to a draw to win 10 Dojos. There will be one random winner from each class. To ensure your child is entered into this weekly draw, all you have to do is make sure they are in school on time every day. Thank you for your continued support.

A huge well done to Muizz for making it into the final six as a candidate for Children's Champion. Muizz has been presented with an award from the Mayor of Rochdale for his excellent entry and hard work. Everyone at Marland Hill is so proud of you in what was a record year for applications.

Children in year 3 made sweet Ladoo to celebrate Eid. They did a great job of rolling and shaping their vanilla, cardamom and coconut sweets!
Dear Schools and Head Teachers
The 9th of September is an annual celebration date for our emergency services. Every hour of every day, our brave and determined staff attend incidents to help people in danger and in crisis. On the morning of the 9th September we will be hosting an event in Rochdale Town Centre with emergency service vehicles and activity stands. We would really love Rochdale children to support the day and get involved with an art competition. It is hoped that our children will be inspired by our emergency services and join us on the day of celebration. The art will be on display at the celebration and then later in the Rochdale Police HQ and Number 1 Riverside.
The title of the competition is “using whatever creative materials you choose - show your favourite emergency service”. Children who enter must write on the back of their entry their name , age and why they have chosen the emergency service that they have .
There are three age categories:-
4 -6 years
7 – 9 years
10-12 years
There will be a winner and runner up for each emergency service in each age category . There will be prizes, certificates and an opportunity to see the artwork on display at Rochdale Police HQ .
If your school want to enter, please let Rev Margaret Smith (Chaplain Rochdale GMP & Chair of SACRE) know (revmesmith@gmail.com 07845767591). The closing date for entries is mid-day Thursday 20th July. Entries can be taken to Rochdale GMP headquarters on the Esplanade OR Rev Margaret will arrange collection. The Judges will be Rev Smith, Rochdale District Commander, lead from the Fire service and NWAS . We will endeavour to inform the schools of the winners on the last day of term Fridays 21st July. Prizes will be awarded during the 999 celebration.
Please note, we accept that the 999 celebration is on a Saturday and may be a challenge for some children to attend. We can arrange to support the winners and their parents/guardians with travelling issues with a ride in a Police car to and from the event.
Really look forward to seeing your artwork
Kind Regards
Nicky
