This week the children will once again be bringing home the knowledge organisers and homework tasks for over half term. We would appreciate your support in ensuring homework tasks are completed, and returned to school. It would also be beneficial to your child if you looked at and discussed the content of the knowledge organiser at intervals across the half term, enabling your child to share with you what they are learning in class.
Phonics Books are available to buy on Parent Mail for Reception, Year 1 and 2 to assist with your child’s Phonics learning. Please go to the shop section on Parent Mail.
The following children have been awarded ‘Star Reader’ and enjoyed going to the ‘Starbooks’ cafe in the library to enjoy a drink and a treat as their reward. Fantastic!

The children in the HIRB wrote some lovely stories in their English lessons this half term. They wrote in the style of the well-loved story, Handa’s Surprise, which is based on a little girl in Africa who carries a fruit basket for her friend Akeyo. Along her journey, some animals take the fruit one by one.
The children chose their own animals and fruit for their own stories, and used amazing descriptive sentences to describe them.
Once they completed their stories, they read them to the Nursery children and did so with full enthusiasm. It was lovely for all staff and children to be a part of!
