On Thursday, children from Years 5 and 6, alongside children from Brimrod Primary, took part in a special lacrosse lesson organised and run by Rochdale Borough Sports Games Partnership. During the lesson the children were taught the key skills involved in the game of lacrosse and got the chance to perfect these against each other in a small sided game. All children involved thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity and represented the school admirably.
Year 4 had a visit from the dental nurse which links with their current science topic of teeth and the digestive system. They learnt how to look after their teeth and were even given a toothbrush to take home!
Sharam got a Blue Peter reading badge.
I asked him what he had to do and he said - I had to read a book, write a review and then talk about my favourite authors. Then I watched a Blue Peter episode and wrote down what I liked about it. I filled in my details and two weeks later, I received a badge.
This week we received the exciting news that the DfE has agreed our application to join Altus Education Partnership, meaning we will become an academy within their trust. No date has been agreed for this to happen yet, but I expect it will be within the next 12 months at the moment. I will continue to share updates on this as things progress.
Nursery offers for September 2026 have been sent out, please check emails if you have applied. We do still have morning and afternoon nursery places available. If you are interested please pick an application form from reception. Thank you.
With the weather constantly changing please can we advise that children have had sun cream applied, any antihistamines if needed, have water bottles, coats/jackets as appropriate.
Thank you.
