We are still waiting for some of these to be returned, and will be sending home extra forms to those parents who may have forgotten to fill them in. It is vitally important that we have your contact details up to date. Thank you for your co-operation.
Just a note to say ‘Thank You’ to all our Year 2 & Year 4 parents for your support with our new arrangements at home time. We very much appreciate your co-operation in keeping our children safer at home times.
Please may we remind parents that children attending Breakfast Club must be handed over to our staff by a parent/carer when they arrive. Please do not drop your children off at the bottom of the school path and let them walk into the building alone. Thank you for your continued support.
Flu vaccinations will be carried out on 10th October. If you have NOT returned your child’s consent form to school and still wish for them to have the vaccination, there are a limited number of spare forms in the school office. These need to be signed and sent back to us asap.
We will be holding a non-uniform day alongside our Macmillan Coffee Morning next Friday 27th September. Please come along. All welcome!
On Sunday 15th September, Mr Wood—our new Year 3 teacher took part in the Bury 10k run. He did extremely well and completed the run in less than an hour. Well done to Mr Wood! We are very proud of you!

This year’s borough-wide “A Library Card for Every Child” initiative, is now in its fourth year. Our school has received a delivery of children’s library cards and explanatory leaflets for parents/guardians, including details of how to “activate the card”, information about the benefits of library membership and about the forthcoming Rochdale Literature & Ideas Festival (14-21 October). This year, the cards are of a limited edition design, highlighting the visit of Dippy, the Natural History Museum’s diplodocus, to Rochdale’s Number One Riverside, from February to June next year. We will be sending these home with all our Year 1 children. Please check your child’s school bag.
On Friday 13th September, our year 4 children visited the Rochdale Pioneer’s Museum, to learn and discover more about the ‘Rochdale Pioneers and the birth of the Famous ‘Co-operative Society!
This year’s festival is 14th to 21st October. The 2019 Rochdale Literature and Ideas Festival is packed full of activities for children and young book lovers.
